The original company of Jubilee Singers was sent out in 1871 and disbanded in
1878. With the exception of a few months in 1890, the University had no company in the
field until 1899 when these singers were sent out; and they are the only Jubilee Singers

who in any way represent Fisk University.

PRACTICE TEACHERS AND CHILDREN FROM THE

In this school the higher normal students do required, and the college students

elective work. Of the 393 living graduates of Fisk, 217 are now engaged in tee

LIVINGSTONE HALL.

Livingstone Hall was erected by a donation from Mrs. Valeria G. Stone, and is
used as a dormitory for the young men. It also contains school and study rooms, a
chapel, library and offices.

GYMNASIUM AND WORKSHOP.

Light and heavy gymnastic work is required of all young men in the Boarding
Department during the winter months. In the basement is a workshop where manual
training was taught until it was discontinued through lack of funds. Fisk University
stands for literary, spiritual and physical excellence.

in the Preparatory Department, the same number in the Normal

| | ISK UNIVERSITY has its largest enrollment since it ana a

Department, and twenty- -five in the Theological Department. The Grades

and Training School, and Music Department are as usual fully attended.
The Department of Applied Science, with its Manual Training and

Domestic Science and Agricultural Desartnest is a strong ally of the

Literary Courses.

The usual financial problems confront the Institution. It presents

an opportunity for the investment of philanthropic and patriotic securities
unsurpassed. oe
