- Description:
- The placenta is a highly vascularized organ attached to the lining of the uterus during pregnancy. The glycoprotein FSTL3 (Follistatin-like 3), along with EPHB4 and its ligand Ephrin B2 are highly expressed in the mouse placenta. The hypothesis for this project was that in the absence of FSTL3, the expression and signaling of EphB4 would be altered.
