Mbongi, according to Dr. Asa G. Hilliard, III, refers to an African-created "collective process" of strategic planning, community renewal, and political engagement. The process was first described by Dr. Fu-Kiau Bunseki of Congo. Participants in the conference included Dr. Jacob Carruthers, Dr. Carol Brunson Phillips, and Howard Dodson. "Think Tank on a global agenda for The Education/Socialization for people of African ancestry, East Point, GA", Project Director: Asa Hilliard.
