- Description:
- This study examines the effects that crises have on an institution and what characteristics of effective leadership are needed in order to guide the institution through it. This study was based on the premise that it takes a forward-thinking leader to prepare and successfully guide an institution out of a crisis and to mitigate the lingering effects of it. A case-study analysis approach was used to analyze data gathered and the researcher found that an on-campus crisis is oftentimes sudden and unexpected and can affect the campus and surrounding community. The conclusions drawn from the findings suggest that prior proper planning prevents leadership from not being able to adapt and conform to normalcy.
