- Description:
- Mentorships occur when one is more knowledgeable and guides or act as a role model to one who is less knowledgeable. It is during this time that mentor-mentee relationships work together to discover and develop the mentee’s latent talents and capabilities. The purpose of this mixed-method study was to analyze mentee perceptions and effectiveness of the selected mentoring program. This study included an in-depth analysis of existing studies as well as research from the author. Questionnaires and interviews were produced for mentees within the selected mentoring program. From these questionnaires, data was analyzed. Along with the questionnaire results, there were also five interviews that provided insights of what mentees believed regarding the effectiveness of their mentorship. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics and data analysis. The study revealed the factors that mentees perceived to have an impact on the selected mentoring program. The conclusions from the findings are suggested doe enhancements to improve school communities, mentorships, and to make educational leaders aware of the impact of mentee satisfaction, mentor-mentee communication and involvement, and mentee overall grade point average (GPA).
