- This study scrutinized whether or not HIV/AIDS interventions, in the form of education and monetary and in-kind donations from black churches, have had a positive effect on service delivery within the African-American community. The purpose of this study was to espy whether or not education and monetary and in-kind donations from black churches have had a positive effect in combating the HIV/AIDA epidemic within the African-American community. The sample used was 10 black churches in Atlanta, Georgia, and 10 HIV/AIDS agencies within the same location. A process of compare and contrast was applied to demonstrate the roles of black churches within their affiliation and what aspect they play, if any, with existing HIV/AIDS agencies. A representative from each of the 10 black churches in Atlanta, Georgia, and each of the 10 HIV/AIDS agencies providing services within the same location responded to a questionnaire with respect to the organizations' stance on providing HIV/AIDS education, prevention, and donations to the African-American community. Two focus groups' consisting of 10 participants also convened to further explore the responses from the questionnaire more in-depth. The data accumulated was analyzed using the one-shot case study design, frequencies, and descriptive methods.
