- Description:
- The overall objective of this study was to determine if there was a relationship between the role of parental involvement with conduct disordered behavior and non-conduct disordered behavior among African-American male adolescents. To obtain this objective the following areas were addressed by the researcher: (a) parental involvement issues and (b) issues relating to conduct disorder. An exploratory research design was used in this study. A self administered 45 item questionnaire was given to a group of 30 African American parents of adolescents ranging in age from 13 to 16 located in the metro Atlanta area and from Desi Job Corps, Atlanta, Georgia. The results of the study indicated that there was not a statistical significant relationship between the role of parental involvement and conduct disorder and non-conduct disorder among African American male adolescents. The hypothesis was rejected.
