- Description:
- On the basis of measured generalized oscillator strenghts, electron differential and integral cross-sections have been calculated in the range 100 to 1290 eV for the two transitions X1E+ + A*H and X1E+ ? C1E1 in CO; for C02, ls(2crfl) ? 2TT; for excitation of F2 71E and for the electronic states of S02, using the recent universal formula of Msezane and Sakmar. The unmeasured differential cross-sections (DOSs) in the angular range 0 <8 <2 are found to contribute significantly to the integral cross-sections (ICSs) ranging from 28% to 69%. These results underscore the importance of accurate determination of the DOSs at small scattering angles and the need for a good theoretical guide.
