- Description:
- This exploratory descriptive study examined variables which will help social workers to better understand job hunting behavior among males and females in methadone treatment. To attain this objective, the following areas were addressed by the researcher: 1) Drug use as a social problem; 2) Legal issues facing drug dependent female and male job hunters; 3) Effectiveness of methadone treatment intervention; 4) Vocational services, and 5) Social support systems. A self administered questionnaire of thirty-two items was given to a population of thirty-four men and women in methadone treatment. The findings revealed there is no significant difference between males and females on job hunting behavior in methadone maintenance treatment.
