- Description:
- The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of homelessness on the perceptions of counseling effectiveness among unhospitalized Vietnam Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The instrument used was the Counselor Effectiveness Rating Scale (CERS). The Counselor Effectiveness Rating Scale was designed to measure clients' perceptions of the counselor by responding to a number of concepts related to counseling. Subjects for the study was selected based on the willingness to participate in the study. Data collection was by the survey method. The statistical analysis was done using the t-test for independent samples and frequency analysis. Results suggested that there was no statistically significant differences in the perceptions of counseling effectiveness among unhospitalized Vietnam Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder who are homeless and those who are not. Thus the results of this study indicated that residential status did not significantly impact the perceptions of counseling effectiveness.
