- Description:
- High stress levels have been linked to emotional and physical illnesses. Fifty-three black employed single female parents were given a survey which included two tests to ascertain levels of existing stress. Two independent variables, income and social support system, were tested to determine if there was a correlation with the dependent variable, high stress level. Pearson's r was the method used for analysis. Results indicated that the relationship between the dependent variable and independent variables was significant at the .05 level of significance.
