- Description:
- Danielle Phillips-Cunningham is an associate professor of Multicultural Women's and Gender Studies Department at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. Her book, Putting Their Hands on Race: Irish Immigrant and Southern African American Domestic Workers in the US Northeast, was published by Rutgers University Press in December 2019. It is a comparative labor and migration history of Irish immigrant and southern African American women who labored as domestic workers in US northeastern cities. Phillips-Cunningham will research multiple archival collections housed by the Robert W. Woodruff Library to document the labor organizing histories of Atlanta natives Dorothy Bolden and Elizabeth McDuffie.
