- This video features an event for Joseph E. Lowery in honor of his retirement from his role as president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). The recording opens with reflections and remembrances by Evelyn G. Lowery, Evelyn G. Redmond, Joseph E. Lowery, Cheryl Lowery, Yvonne Lowery, and some of Lowery's grandchildren. At 00:08:10, the video transitions to a banquet event marking Lowery's retirement from the SCLC. Karen Lowery performs a song and Joseph E. Lowery gives remarks reflecting on his civil rights career.
