Homegoing Celebration In Loving Memory of Arlene Scott, February 5, 1941 - February 1, 2008, Services, Thursday, February 7, 2008, 11:00 A.M., Covenant Glen United Methodist Church, 401 Present Street, Stafford, Texas, Reverend Robert Childress, Pastor, Officiating

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way Ifound that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times ofsorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don't lengthen it now with undue grief Lift up your hearts and share with me
God wanted me now
He Set Me Free!

In 1984 she married Aloyce Scott in Seattle, Washington. They eventually moved to Missouri City, Texas in 1988 where they enjoyed traveling, fishing, spending time with family and friends and raising Angus cattle. Together they lived a happy and fulfilling life until her passing.
Arlene had a passion for helping others and could often be found volunteering her time, or simply lending a helping hand to those in need. She lived life with determination, an abundance of energy, flair and elegance. She was Queen Mother of Stafford's Red Hat Chilie Steppers, which brought her tremendous joy.
She is survived by her husband, Aloyce Scott; her two children, Alexandria Kim McKoy and Alan Bryan McKoy; also, three grandchildren, one great grandchild; two sisters, Diane Jordan and Cecelia Weygel and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her dog, Woody.
At the time of her death she was an active member of Covenant Glen United Methodist Church. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. We know she is now breathing easy and resting in the loving arms of the Lord.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow ofdeath,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
for ever.
