Was born on August 20, 1952 to the late Buster and Grace Meadows. He attended E.P. Johnson Elementary School and graduated High School from Smith High Class of 1970. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served 2 years. After his
return home, Alfred was employed for 17 years at Siemens in Tucker, GA. He later went on to work with Yellow Freight then to DeKalb County Sanitation where he retired in 2011.
Alfred had a deep love for sports. He was a good athlete in his own right, even playing football and basketball in Europe.
Alfred Loved God and did not mind telling the world about his salvation. He trusted the Lord always through his sickness knowing that this world was not his permanent home. He worked on a building, eternal in Heaven not made by man's hand.
Alfred leaves to cherish is memories his wife, Venus Brown Meadows, High School sweethearts that married April4, 1974. The two shared an adoring and loving relationship for 40 years. His daughter, Tara Stroud; grandson Netori Johnson; brothers, Raymond (Mary), Marvin, and Donald Meadows; sisters, Amanda Holland and Gwendolyn Meadows.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Grace Meadows; sisters, Grace Chapman, Julia Bailey, Helen Handsford, and Ruby Gasaway; brothers, Buster, Waymond, Robert, and Melvin Meadows and grandson, Deontae Stroud, whom was the love of his life.
