Christine E. Reynolds Butler was born December 23, 1923 to the late John Wesley and Betty E. Reynolds. She was the youngest of two children. Her brother, John Wesley, Jr. also preceded her in death as well as her husband, Joshua Morris Butler and her lifelong companion of 32 years, David Belt. Ms. Butler was a member of Kings Memorial United Methodist Church, formerly known as Wiley Memorial Methodist Church in Southeast Atlanta. While there, she was a member of the choir. Ms. Butler had many talents, particularly singing, dancing, knitting and crocheting. She was especially known for entertaining family, friends, dancing and her sense of humor. There was never a dull moment when you were in her presence. She had a loving spirit in which she touched the hearts of so many people throughout her lifetime. She will truly be missed by so many.
Ms. Butler loved her family and always carried a special love for her son, Todd; grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Todd (wife, Priscilla); her grandchildren, LaToya (Jeremy) Major, Todd Burks, Jr., Amani Burks and Dayvon Burks; three great grandchildren, Jeremiah Major, Jermaine Major and Janiyah Terry; along with Paul (Rosetta) Dorsey and family, the Reynolds, Butler, Lawson and Coachman families; and a host of other family, extended family and friends.
God Took Her To His Loving Home
God saw her getting tired; a cure was not to be. He wrapped his loving arms around her and whisp ered,
"Come with me. " She suffered much in silence, her spirit did not bend. She fa ced her pain with courage, until the very end. She tried so hard to stay with us but her fight was not in vain. God took her to His loving home and freed her from the pain.
