The materials document three generations of the Jones family including Noble Jones, Noble Wymberly Jones, and George Jones. The last will and Testament of Noble Jones includes the bequest of Wormslow [Wormsloe] and enslaved people.
Noble Jones (1702-1775), surveyor, planter, and politician, born in Surrey, England. His son, Noble Wymberly Jones (1723-1805), politician and physician, born in Lambeth, England. Both emigrated to the United States in 1733 as part of the original settlement of Georgia. Noble Wymberly Jones' son, George Jones (1766-1838), physician and politician, born in Savannah, Georgia.
