Demonstrations, tours and special meetings are held at other times and places with proper notification given. \n \nt t \nt \n \n* \n \n: \n \nSUPERVISORS RESPONSIBILITIES: \n \n* J \n \nt \n \nAs part of business meetings the supervisors will report on their activities as \n \nt \n \nt \n \nsupervisors and strive to secure five new district cooperators for each supervisor. \n \nt \n \n* * * \n \n* \n \ntttttttttttttttttttttttttttt \n \n r::l/l/l/1/l/1//l/l/l/l/l/l/l/1/lllll/l/.l'/l/1/l'/l/l'/l/l/l/1/ll'lll'/l/l/.171/l/l/l/l/l/l/l/l/l/1/l/l/1/l'/l/l/l/l/l/l/l/l/#/l/l'/,#'4/ll'/l/l/l/l/~ \n~LINCOLN COUNTY DISTRICT 2 0 1 4 OBJECTIVES~ \n~~~~#~~~~W~~#~~IZI~Im~/~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~IZ~~~~~~~#~~~~~~I/I~~~~~~~~~#~I~ \n1. Encourage cooperators to install conservation measures using the district's no-till drill. \n2. Select four landowners with serious erosion problems, develop a proper conservation plan and encourage their cooperation in carrying out the plan. \n3. Participate in career days to promote natural resources conservation. \n4. Promote the use of legumes in grassland management. \n5. Encourage planting marginal cropland acres and idle acres to trees of grasses. \n6. Sponsor students to the Natural Resources Conservation Workshop to introduce them at an early age to the concepts of soil and water conservation. Tuition will be paid from district funds or from outside sources. Arrange for workshop students to report on their experiences at the workshop. \n7. Assist in land judging and forestry contest for 4-H and FFA students. Support 4-H gardening and Lincoln County 4-H Livestock Show. \n8. Develop a conservation plan for high school campus. \n9. Continue to work with the county recreation parks. \n10. Arrange and conduct functions like banquets, luncheons and cookouts to recognize individuals for their contributions to soil and water conservation and promote greater participation. \n11. Purchase and distribute Soil and Water Stewardship Week materials to inform the public of the need to manage and protect soil and water resources. \n12. Include at least one news article per month in the local paper. \n13. Contact all local agricultural agencies, organizations, garden clubs, civic clubs, school superintendents and ministers requesting full cooperation in soil and water stewardship activities. \n14. Maintain records and manage no-till drill to plant as many acres as possible. \n15. Encourage county and city governments to enforce erosion and sediment control ordinance. Help make the public aware of the need to obtain an erosion plan before starting certain land disturbing activities. \nII \n \n 16. Review memorandums of understanding with cooperating agencies. \n17. Review long-range plan for possible updating. \n18. Participate in CSR-RC\u0026D and encourage the Lincoln County Commission to form a RC\u0026D County Committee. \n19. The District will provide prizes for the three top conservation entries at the Lincoln County Elementary School Science Fair. First place- $15.00 and second place $10.00 and third place- $5.00. \n20. Support Field Day on Forestry BMP Demonstration. \n21. Purchase or develop, and then distribute, educational and informational materials to inform the public of the need to manage and protect soil and water resources. \n22. Purchase and manage the use of equipment that will demonstrate methods for implementing soil and water conservation practices. \n23. Manage district financial and material resources to meet district goals in an efficient and productive manner and as prescribed by state guidelines. \n24. Maintain membership in professional organizations and associations that promulgate and promote goals that are similar to those of the districts. \n25. Manage and expend funds made available through private, local, state and federal sources in such a way as to promote soil and water conservation and conservation education. \n26. Sponsor and conduct meetings and seminars to inform groups and individuals of particular conservation needs. \n27. Seek outside sources of income to strengthen and support district activities and programs. \n28. Sponsor a Conservation Poster Contest in County Schools. Provide prizes including 1st place- $15.00, 2\"d place- $10.00 and 3'd place- $5.00. \n29. Encourage public participation in USDA programs including WHIP, FLEP and EQIP. \n30.
