This cavalry regiment was formed in 1715. It served in several campaigns until 1960, when it was merged into the 9th/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales’s). This card is one of a series of 82 depicting statuettes made in the 1930s.  They were replicas of the carved wooden models designed by Charles d’Orville Pilkington Jackson (1887-1973) for the opening of the Scottish United Services Museum in 1933.
