The park began construction in 1924 under the design plans of Warren Henry Manning and officially opened in March 1925. One notable event happened on February 15, 1933, when Chicago Mayor Anton Cermak was shot three times in the chest and mortally wounded while shaking hands with President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt in front of the Park by assassin Giuseppe Zangara. There was some debate as to whether Zangara had been actually trying to assassinate Roosevelt instead of Cermak, however no firm evidence has been found to prove this theory. Today, Bayfront Park is host to many large events such as the New Year's ball drop, Christmas celebrations, concerts, the Bayfront Park Amphitheater, the Tina Hills Pavilion, as well as boat tours around Biscayne Bay. Text on reverse: Bayfront Park is one of the prettiest spots in Miami. It is situated on the shores of beautiful Biscayne Bay. Postage required 1 cent stamp. Card number 67818."]},"rights":"http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/","requiredStatement":{"label":{"en":["Attribution"]},"value":{"en":["No Copyright - United States (http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/)\nMoultrie-Colquitt County Library System"]}},"provider":[{"id":"https://dlg.usg.edu/","type":"Agent","label":{"en":["Moultrie-Colquitt County Library System"]},"logo":[{"id":"https://dlg.usg.edu/uploads/holding_institution/737/image/record_image.jpg","type":"Image","format":"image/jpeg"}]}],"seeAlso":[{"id":"https://dlg.usg.edu/record/zgz_epogpc_mccls-pstcrd-263.json","type":"Dataset","format":"application/json"}],"metadata":[{"label":{"en":["Title"]},"value":{"en":["Bayfront Park, looking towards the Bay, Miami, Florida"]}},{"label":{"en":["Holding Institution"]},"value":{"en":["Moultrie-Colquitt County Library System"]}},{"label":{"en":["Online Collection"]},"value":{"en":["Ellen Payne Odom Genealogy Library Postcard Collection"]}},{"label":{"en":["Creator"]},"value":{"en":["Tichnor Bros.
