It opened in 1923, although its cornerstone was laid four years earlier. Text on reverse: Washington Memorial Library, given to the City of Macon by Mrs., E.W. Bellamy and equipped in 1924 by the Junior Chamber of Commerce. It is located a few blocks from the downtown district and is just across the street from Wesleyan College.
