Eichmann stands at the dock, flanked by guards, behind bulletproof glass. An unidentified female voice translates from German and Hebrew to English. Chief Justice Moshe Landau says, in Hebrew, "We shall permit you to swear in a way that you find binding." An offscreen translator repeats this to Eichmann in German. Eichmann proceeds to take the oath: "I swear by God that my testimony in this trial will be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth." Landau says, "Will you put your right hand on the New Testament?" A seated guard picks up a Bible from the side of the table and places it in front of Eichmann. Eichmann immediately puts the Bible back where it was. He says, "I do not swear by the Bible; I swear by Almighty God."</dc:description><dc:description>Title supplied by cataloger.</dc:description><dc:description>Clip number: wsbn32919</dc:description><dc:format>video/mp4</dc:format><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Original found in the WSB-TV newsfilm collection.</dc:source><dc:subject>War crime trials--Jerusalem</dc:subject><dc:subject>War criminals--Germany</dc:subject><dc:subject>Eichmann, Adolf, 1906-1962--Trials, litigation, etc.</dc:subject><dc:subject>Landau, Moshe, 1912-2011</dc:subject><dc:subject>Eichmann, Adolf, 1906-1962</dc:subject><dc:title>Series of WSB-TV clips of former Nazi Party official Adolf Eichmann being put under oath at his war crimes trial, June 20, 1961, Jerusalem</dc:title><dc:type>MovingImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
