She blows kisses before going back to closing Goofy in the book. She tries to climb onto the couch with Goofy and succeeds to grab a book off the top. She sits on the couch next to her father, both holding up books they are reading. She climbs over to look at what he is reading, eventually ending up in his lap and holding the book herself. He reads Mother Goose with her. She crawls on the floor and picks up Goofy. Segment two: Daytime activities, 3:53. A girl sits on the ground in a yellow dress playing with a ring. Black slug. A boat, "PINELLAS," sits in the water as a man on board walks around. The boat has some cars on the bottom and sets out from port. Segment four: Ruth's house, 10:01. Title screen: "AT RUTH'S HOUSE IN CORDELE NOVEMBER 11, 1948." A man retrieves a football from the street and kicks it. Two young girls and a boy play outside with a group of adults watching them. Some of them are punting and kicking the football. The younger children ride on bicycles and run on the sidewalk as the older ones play football. A toddler climbs stairs under close supervision. They walk around the yard. A woman carefully watches everyone. A woman follows her toddler and grabs her hand. The toddler hides in the shade of the house. A group of mostly women sit on the porch to chat. Inside, the little girl tries to move a rocking chair around. She climbs on it to try to retrieve her book off the top of a cabinet. She reaches into a crib and pulls her blanket out. She climbs onto a cushion, then onto the bed where she pulls the covers down. She lays down on the pillow and pulls the covers up, putting the blanket on her face. She turns on a bed lamp.
