In addition, he has exhibited his own work since 1966. In 1987, he retired as owner and director of Hand Graphics Studio to concentrate on his own art-making. Adams describes his work as expressionistic drawing. He is acutely aware of the underlying structure of the human form, and his stylized treatment of the body appears at times surreal. He seeks to create images that capture emotion and expression rather than realistic representation.</dc:description><dc:description>Gift of the artist to the Tubman African American Museum.</dc:description><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:subject>African American prints--United States</dc:subject><dc:subject>Musicians</dc:subject><dc:subject>African American musicians</dc:subject><dc:subject>Guitarists</dc:subject><dc:subject>African American guitarists</dc:subject><dc:subject>Foot</dc:subject><dc:subject>Prints, American</dc:subject><dc:title>Fat Sam</dc:title><dc:type>StillImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
