So the gentle Spirit of our beloved friend and Sister Mrs. Hettie Martin on the evening of Sept. 16, 1922 released its hold upon time and peacefully glided into eternity. There to dwell with her Blessed Lord and Master Whom she leved and served so faithfully and well. Sister was a noble character to to every Sense of honor. A most faithfull wife and mother. A true and devoted Christian living a faithfull and consistant member of the Baptist Church for many years. She was born in Dec. 27, 1835 and lived to the age of eighty six. She is Survived by six loving and dutiful chrildren as follows. Mrs. G. W. Sudderth, Mrs. G. L. Brogdon, Mrs. W. A. Brogdon of Buford, GA. G. L. and R. T. Martin of Lawrenceville GA and Wilse Martin of Columbua S.C. 35 Grand children and 61 Great Grand Children. Whereas we the members of Old Suwanee Baptist Church deeply realizing the keep and incurable loss which we have sustained in the Homegoing of dear Sister Martin. Therefore Be it Resolved First: That we thank our Heavenly Father for her Sweet Christian Spirit so beautifully exemplifed while with us. Second: That we extend to the breaved family our deepest Sympathy and point them to the Savior She loved and trusted. Hays [FindAGrave Memorial #68625345] A Shadow of Sorrow was cast over our community Dec 13, 1922. When our briend and Brother W. M. Hays passed away Bro. Hays was born October 6th, 1881 being 41 years 2 months and 7 day old. On April 22nd, 1906 he was married to Miss Claudia Pirkle who Survives him to thie union were born two children Pearl and Earnest Hays who also survives their father. Bro. Hays united with Zion Hill Baptist Church in Aug 1907 being a faithful and consistent member thre untill Aug 1922 when he moved his membership to Suwanee Church where he remained a member until his Death While a member with us he was faithfull and useful member being regular in attenda- nce and in sympathy with all the work of the church. He was teacher of the young mens’ Sunday School class at the time of his death. While the soul of Bro Hays does to the glory world his body is planted in the family burying grount at Zions Hill Church The funeral was conducted at Zions Hill Church by his beloved pastor Rev. S. F. Davis and was attended by a large number of Sorrowing relatives and friends. Now, as an expression of our love, confidence, and rememberance, and for the purpose of recording his passing, Be it resolved: First: That was a church we were blessed in having Bro. Hays as a member and shall miss his presence and cooperation but may the influence of his life live on to lead others onward. Second: That we bow in humble submission to the divine province that has removed our brother from us Third: That we share the grief with his wife and children and that the heartfelt sym- pathy of each member of this church be and is hereby extended to them as we commend them to the Savior he trusted Fourth: That a copy of these resuolutions be presented to the family of our deceased brother a copy be send to the News Herald for publication and a copy be spread upon the pages of our church record book Respectfully submitted George Duncan T.
