Sea Island is an internationally known resort and cottage colony located off the Georgia coast near St. Simons Island in Glynn County. The centerpiece of the resort is the Cloister, a Spanish-style hotel designed by Addison Mizner, which dates from 1928. One of a series of barrier islands, Sea Island is approximately five miles long and one and a half miles wide at its widest point.
