Hundreds of visual artists, writers, potters, composers, dancers, and other artists have pursued their crafts here in solitude. The Hambidge Center, along Betty's Creek in Rabun County, was the site of a revival of the mountain art of weaving from the 1930s to the 1950s, and it continues today as a focus for community activities geared toward the arts and nature.</dc:description><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:relation>http://www.georgiaencyclopedia.org/articles/arts-culture/hambidge-center-creative-arts-and-sciences</dc:relation><dc:relation>Forms part of: New Georgia Encyclopedia</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/UND/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>http://www.georgiaencyclopedia.org/articles/arts-culture/hambidge-center-creative-arts-and-sciences</dc:source><dc:source>Forms part of: New Georgia Encyclopedia</dc:source><dc:source>Photograph by Ralph Daniel</dc:source><dc:subject>Signs and signboards--Georgia--Rabun Gap</dc:subject><dc:subject>Artist colonies--Georgia--Rabun Gap</dc:subject><dc:subject>Roads--Georgia--Rabun Gap</dc:subject><dc:subject>Hambidge Center (Rabun Gap, Ga.)</dc:subject><dc:title>Hambidge Center</dc:title><dc:type>StillImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
