Constructed in 1930, the Old Mill boasts an iron hub which had originally been of service at Hermitage, an early manufacturing community near the Shannon village between Rome and Calhoun, Georgia, and was a gift to Berry from The Republic Mining (bauxite) and Manufacturing Company. Henry Ford had the hub moved to Berry where the wheel was rebuilt. Berry College owns about 28,000 acres. By the 1990s Berry College annually enrolled approximately 1,800 undergraduates and roughly 200 students in its business and education graduate programs.</dc:description><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:relation>http://www.georgiaencyclopedia.org/articles/education/berry-college</dc:relation><dc:relation>Forms part of: New Georgia Encyclopedia</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/UND/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>http://www.georgiaencyclopedia.org/articles/education/berry-college</dc:source><dc:source>Forms part of: New Georgia Encyclopedia</dc:source><dc:source>Photograph by Ralph Daniel</dc:source><dc:subject>College campuses--Georgia--Mount Berry</dc:subject><dc:subject>Berry College</dc:subject><dc:subject>Universities and colleges--Georgia--Mount Berry</dc:subject><dc:subject>Trees--Georgia--Mount Berry</dc:subject><dc:subject>Fall foliage--Georgia--Mount Berry</dc:subject><dc:subject>Autumn--Georgia--Mount Berry</dc:subject><dc:subject>Sidewalks--Georgia--Mount Berry</dc:subject><dc:title>Berry College</dc:title><dc:type>StillImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
