Writer says he wrote to "your son" previously about "lands belonging to our Grandfather's Estate Wm. Cooke" in Glynn County, about 70,000 acres "if we can recover them all." Writer says learned of claim by coming across an old letter "from my father giving his information about them I suppose in answer to an enquiry from Aunt Catherine or your father." Writer trying to put together a group of the 16 heirs to make the claim and requests Cousin Kate join in. Signature difficult to read. 2d Letter dated at Philadelphia on April 15, 1901, addressed to "Dear Cousin Kate" also regarding the claim on 70,000 acres of land in Glynn County. Says he has recovered 40,000 acres of land in Glynn County that his grandfather Cooke had purchased of Lane Son &Frazer in Charleston at public sale for $60000. Mr. Frazer was an uncle of grandfather and Mr. Lane a cousin, for whose firm grandfather worked.
