Photograph showing the task of rebuilding Gainesville after the tornado of April 6, 1936. The project seemed a hopeless task. The city had been over a hundred years in the building and was reduced to shambles in less than five minutes. With coordinated efforts of the citizens, the clean-up and rebuilding was rapid. This photograph was taken exactly one month after the tornado.</dc:description><dc:description>Caption: "Hall County Library Photo Collection (0170) Gainesville, Georgia."</dc:description><dc:description>Digitized by: Digital Techniques, Inc.</dc:description><dc:description>Electronic version made available through a federal Library Services and Technology Act Grant and Georgia Public Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Forms part of: Hall County, Georgia historical photograph collection.</dc:source><dc:subject>Tornadoes--Georgia--Gainesville</dc:subject><dc:subject>Central business districts--Georgia--Gainesville</dc:subject><dc:subject>Buildings--Georgia--Gainesville--Repair and reconstruction</dc:subject><dc:subject>Roses 5, 10, 25 Cents Store (Gainesville, Ga.)</dc:subject><dc:title>Reconstructed East Washington Street</dc:title><dc:type>StillImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
