He first became active in politics when he joined the Georgia Jaycees--he would become president of the organization and national director of the U.S. Jaycees. He worked for Ellis Arnall's gubernatorial campaign in 1966, and after Arnall's loss in the Democratic primary, Young joined Lester Maddox's gubernatorial campaign. He continued to support Maddox in his successful bid for lieutenant governor in 1970, and worked as a campaign advisor for Bill Stuckey and Sam Nunn. Young continued to live in St. Simons, and was the owner and operator of the Bowlarena in Brunswick for many years. He also owned Professional Corrections Services in Savannah. Ned Young died in Savannah in 2008.</dc:description><dc:description>Finding aid available in repository.</dc:description><dc:description>Interviewed by Bob Short.</dc:description><dc:format>video/mp4</dc:format><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Reflections on Georgia Politics Oral History Collection</dc:source><dc:source>http://sclfind.libs.uga.edu/sclfind/view?docId=ead/RBRL220ROGP.xml</dc:source><dc:subject>Junior Chamber International</dc:subject><dc:subject>Political campaigns--Georgia</dc:subject><dc:subject>Governors--Georgia</dc:subject><dc:subject>Governors--Election</dc:subject><dc:subject>Campaign management--Georgia</dc:subject><dc:subject>Campaign management</dc:subject><dc:subject>Governors</dc:subject><dc:subject>Political campaigns</dc:subject><dc:subject>Georgia</dc:subject><dc:title>Ned Young, 02 June 2008.</dc:title><dc:type>MovingImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
