She talks about differential treatment amongst first-generation Puerto Ricans versus Puerto Rican immigrants. Quiñones discusses being called to work that directly helps people, assuming leadership and mentoring roles, and working with Latino families and students. She reflects on working in schools as a family engagement liaison and her experience with parents and dealing with situations of domestic violence. Quiñones comments on patriarchal culture norms, the unified nature of the Latino family, and compares interpersonal relations between the Puerto Rican and U.S. cultures. She discusses her inspirational figures, her interests outside of work such as gardening, and her aspiration to own a farm after retirement. Quiñones reflects on her identity when speaking Spanish and gives advices and encouragement to other Latino immigrants.</dc:description><dc:description>Aída Quiñones was born in Puerto Rico and transferred to study at the University of Georgia.
