[001] In the name of God, amen, I Francis Isuardi, of the City of Turin in Piedmont, and now citizen of the United States of America considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following First, I give and bequeath to Mr. James Higgenbottom One Negro wench named Carolina, with her child named Clito and also all my books printed, and inss [?] all the Horses cattle and hogs. Second I give and bequeath to Mrs. Julia Scarborough my Mulatto boy named Washington. Third I give and bequeath to my Negro which named America, her freedom and I give and bequeath to the same my little girl named Rouna as her slave, also I give and bequeath to the same negro wench America, all the house and kitchen furniture, linen, cloths and all the money that shall be in my house at the time of my death: and lastly I give and bequeath to Mr. William Scarborough his heirs and assigns all my negro slaves (the above mentioned excepted) also my Plantation situated near lower three Runs [?] Barnwell district S.C. and all my personal estate of what kind and nature soever (the above mentioned excepted) after having paid my debts. I appoint my sole executor and administrator of this my last Will, the above named Mr James Higgenbottom, hereby revoking all former wills and testaments by me made. Peyton, who being duly sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God, doth make oath and say that he saw Mr. Francis Isuardi sign seal publish pronounce and declare the within Instrument of Writing to be and contain his last Will and Testament. that he the said Francis Isuardi was then of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of the deponent's knowledge, and belief; and that James Coker and Henry Dortch together with the deponent signed their names as witnesses thereto at the Request of the Testator, in his presence and in the presence of each other.
