[001] Georgia In the name of God Amen I Daniel Demetre of Savannah in the Provinces aforesaid Marriner being in perfect Health and of Sound and disposing mind memory and understanding yet considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do make and Declare this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and form following that is to say Imprimis I will and Desire that all my Just Debts funeral expences be first paid and Satisfyed by my executors hereafter named. Item I Give Devise and Bequeath unto my Beloved Son in law William Thomas Harris and to his heirs forever all that my Plantation or Tract of land con- taining seven hundr[ed] and Fifty Acres Situate lying and being on a neck of land commonly known and Distinguished by Dickensons Neck in the district of Sappelo and Newport in the province of Georgia together with all and singular the Premisses and appertenances thereunto belonging, with all the Cattle Horses Hogs Poultry and Plantation tools upon or belonging to the same And also the following Eight Slaves Named Nicholas Hager Tony Prince Belinda Dinah James and Sylvia together with their and every of their issue and increase. Item I Give and Bequeath is my Grand Daughter Ann [Harris?] and her Heirs One Hundred pounds Sterling. Item I Give and Bequeath unto James Habersham of Savannah the Sum of Fifty Pounds Sterling in Trust to be paid by him to the Master and Wardens of the Society of Free Masons in Savannah for the use of the said Society. Item I Give and Bequeath unto James Habersham the younger Joseph Habersham and John Habersham Sons of the above mentioned James Habersham and the survivor or Survivors of them and the Heirs of such Survivor All the rest and residue of my Estate both real and personal of what nature and kind soever or wheresoever the same may be to be equally divided between the said James Joseph and John or the Survivor of them and the Heirs of such Survivor. And Lastly I do hereby nominate Constitute and appoint my beloved Friends James Habersham and Francis Harris of Savannah in the province aforesaid Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made Ratifying & confirming this to be and contain my last Will and Testament. Pervanally appeared Davd Montaigut and Thomas Rasberry being two of the subscribing Witnesses to the said last Will and Testament of Daniel Demetre of Savannah in the Province of Georgia aforesaid. Marriner deceased, and being duly sworn on the holy Evangelists made Oath, that they were personally present, and did see the Testator sign seal, publish pronounce and declare the same to be and contain his last Will and Testament, and that he was of sound and disposing Mind and Memory to the best of their knowledge and belief, and that they with [James] Mossman signed their Names as Witnesses to the said Will at the request and in the presence of the Testator, and in each others presence At the same time James Habersham and Francis Harris Executors qualified as such before me Given under my hand this tenth day of Aug[ust] 175[8] [signed] Henry Ellis A.
