Research identifies this building as the home of Osborne McKendree Bounds, Jr. (1892-1979). See page 45, item number 37 of The historic homes of Washington, Georgia by Janet Harvill Standard. This slide is a detail from inside of the house: here we see a traditionally styled living room featuring a central fireplace with a white mantel, where a framed picture has been hung and is flanked by two candlesticks. The fireplace is built with red bricks and has a simple metal guard. On either side of the fireplace are two tall, vertical windows with white frames. In front of the fireplace are two armchairs, angled towards each other. The floor is covered with a large Oriental rug. The house originally stood on the Lundburg-Raytown Road and was carefully moved to a site on Spring Street (Sharon Road). The back section of the home (the long "L") belonged to the Revolutionary War hero General John Graves and was attached to the old Wingfield house, ultimately comprising the entire house. Variant names include: Osborne Bounds House, Osborne Bounds, Jr. House.
