Lane. The 1943 Lane Brothers Assignment Book (page 63) billed for only "19 Photos of family; 100 duplicates" and supplied a folded list of 10 of the photos as follows: "2 Mr. Robert at desk. Showing Painting on wall.; 6 of Mr. Robert and Mr. Downs at desk.; 2 Louise [i.e. Louisa] Robert & brother." Chip Robert was a well-known Atlanta businessman who owned and operated an architectural and engineering firm (Robert & Company). He was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under Roosevelt and later, Secretary of the National Democratic Committee. He married Louise (or "Louisa") Godwin Ayers in 1910, and they divorced in 1935, the same year he married Evelyn Walker "Evie" Robinson. Chip and his first wife had two children, Lawrence Wood Robert, III, and Louisa Ayers Robert (married Grant Meade LeRoux, 1940).
