He talks about the emergence of his political consciousness as an adolescent and young adult. He discusses his undergraduate and graduate education, including his getting involved with journalism and activism. Gwin talks about moving to Atlanta as part of the Americorps VISTA program and eventually joining the Great Speckled Bird.
