W.P. Postans (left) and H.R. Thompson, members of a Western Union construction crew, were asleep in their room on the fourth floor of the Terminal Hotel. Awakened by choking smoke, they rushed to a window and attracted the attention of a fireman in the street below. Postans, partially overcome by smoke, was carried down a ladder; Thompson was able to climb down alone. They are seen at Grady Hospital. [crossed out:] The other members of their crew, A.C.
