Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to LaGrange College. God be with you. e Founded in 1831, LaGrange College was one of the first higher educational institutions in the state of Georgia. It has outlasted several wars and depressions, but has prospered nontheless. The follow- ing section is a brief pictorial history of the college and is dedicated to all the faculty, staff, and students that have made it what it is today. 'ii Zaleski C.J. Zimmerman 128 130 "Greetings to the class of 2000... " The graduating class of 2000 had a lot to be excited about on June 3. Granted, it was the first time in years that many had even seen 8:30 on a Saturday morning but complaints about the early hour and the heat of the morning sun were quickly drowned out by the sound of bag-pipes in the distance. Over one hundred LaGrange College students were greeted by President Stuart Gulley and Roy E. Barnes, Govenor of Georgia, not long before they were handed their diplomas and shifted their tassels from the right to the left. Then, as the bag-pipes played once again, the class of 2000 said farewell to any more early mornings at LaGrange and said hello to the rest of their lives. 133 One of the major challenges of LaGrange College today is to show its j students that to prosper in life they must j give back to the community Because of j this philosophy the administration has j created a strong Servant Leadership program that teaches students how to care and give. 140 143 145 147 149 j idifc P age- Stacy Gorman I'r to begin. It's my senior year and last year as editor of the yearbook. I can remem- bi lught this year would never end and then I can remember times when I felt like the year > as slipping bv and I could do nothing to stop it. I'm sure that there are certain things that one should . di tor's Letter/' but I am completely clueless. Unfortunately there are no classes that I am aware of that teach you the protocall for this sort of thing. I will warn you now that I am probally bab- bling because it is getting late and I am getting more and more tired by the minute. ! 3i.li [-hat f he first thing I ought to do is to thank all of the people that have helped me along the way. My famii) _n there for me, even though they weren't able to participate in the completion of this book directly, they have helped more than they will ever know. I also want to thank my sorority. Alpha Omicron Pi has helped me grow into the person I am today and from that group I would like to thank several individuals (though all have been there for me). First and most importantly is my family, original and adopted. Laurel is the best little sister that anyone could ever have. Sallie, I am so proud to call von a <=istpr and more importantly a friend. Missy, I could never have completed this without you. You are my constant in a hectic world. Stephanie, I don't know how to thank you for making my senior year such a wonderful one. Leigh, I wish their was a way that I could explain how important you are to me. You are so very special and I could never thank you enough. Alicia, though the thick and thin, you are the one person that I could never stay mad at long. It must be your smile. Mandy Lupo, you have become my best friend. My only regret is that I didn't meet you earlier in my life. I also want to thank several members of the faculty that have been so generous to me throughout the year. You have made my time at LaGrange College a wonderful experience. These people are Dean Ted, Mrs. Kirby McCartney, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Turner, Marcia Gorman, Debbie Bonaminio, and most importantly Marcia Brown. That should do it for my personal thanks. I would also like to mention that this book would never have made it if it weren't for my staff, Dana, Natalie Shelton, Bob Thomas, Martha Pirkle. They have all do- nated time and effort to this yearbooks production. Also, thanks to all the staff and faculty that donated pictures and facts. At this point I would like to make my apologies. I feel sure that I have messed up somewhere despite my effort. Nobodys perfect. I just wanted to say that if I forgot someone or misspelled something I want everyone to know that I am sorry. All in all, I enjoyed working on this book. It recalls memories that had already begun to fade. Perhaps through my time as Editor, I have created a way for all of us to remember our time at LaGrange College a little better. Editor's Page- Katie Holbach Due to unchangeable circumstances, Katie was not able to write a personal letter. She would like everyone to know that she appreciated all their help and time.
