One of the major doors is the one which opens and invites you to take an active part in the various organizations on the campus. There is no limit to the number of organizations you may join, and almost every day you hear a familiar cry of "I have three meetings scheduled for the same time." The organizations on the "Hill" provide social and spiritual participation for all. ORGANIZATIONS THE QUADRANGLE So tired! Yes, we're so tired of waiting for people to pay their bills: so tired of begging for advertisements; so tired of missing all the latest movies; so tired of having to say "No" to won- derful date invitations; and last, but certainly not least, we're just so tired! The members of the staff probably aren't the only ones who have suffered since the early fall, though. The poor inhabitants of Hawkes, who have had to listen to the pecking of a typewriter and the raised voices of the staff in Room 210 until the wee hours of morning, were, we feel sure, just as happy as we to see the last copy go off to the publisher. "Do!" Thrasher. Bobhie Swanson LaGrange College Lewis Library m Cox, Advertising Mgr. ; Swanson, Business There are so many to whom we are indebted for their splendid cooperation that it would be impossible to list them all. However, we wish to thank Miss Cross for spending many labor- ious hours proofreading the copies, "Fat" Johnson for coming rain or shine to make the numerous pictures, and Mr. Johnny Long for his patience and understanding and his much-needed assistance toward making our annual a success. Don't be surprised if. when you ask a member of the 1952 staff about the annual, she begins pulling her hair and flies into a temper tan- drum. Seriously though, we have enjoyed working on the annual staff, and we sincerely hope that this edition of the Quadrangle meets Mgr.; Thrasher, Editor; Norris, Associate Editor; Dobbs, Photographic Editor; McCIung, Art Editor, with your approval. We also hope that in future years you will often look into this annual and draw from its pages many cherished memories. To the staff of the 1953 Quadrangle we extend our most heartfelt sympathy! We leave to them a box of aspirins, a ton of patience, and a barrel of energy. We also suggest that they adopt as their theme song, "I'll Never Be Free." THE DUNSON MILLS lie on the eastern edge of the city, between the Atlanta and East Point Railroad and the Atlanta Highway, Route 14. Its buildings and grounds are among the most attractive in the South today. The main building and offices are surrounded by a wide expanse of velvety lawns, green the year round, and approximately planted with flowering and ever- green shrubs. The mill building is of red brick with white trim, and has a base planting of shrubbery. The tenement village has some three hundred houses of three- and four-room types, at all times kept freshly painted white, with green trim. Every home is provided with electric lights and running water and has ample room surrounding it for flowers and vegetable gardens, chickens, and a cow if desired. The City of LaGrange now operates in our village a most n-odern and commodious Grammar School Building for the children in our section. The school is equipped with a splendid kitchen and cafeteria, and has a beautiful auditorium. The company operates at its own expense a well-equipped kindergarten for the small children. The company also furnishes a two-story brick building for use as a meeting place for clubs, lodges, and community gatherings. A full-time graduate nurse is regularly employed by the company for the welfare of its employees and their families, and group life insurance at a very low rate is provided for all those who wish it. The company a few years ago built two modern brick churches, one of Old English and one of Colonial design, and besides furnishing light, heat and janitor service for the congregations using the buildings, also contributes sub- stantially to the support of the resident pastor. The Dunson Mills extend greetings and good wishes not only to the La- Grange College Seniors of 1952 but to all girls on the hill. 103 Troup County Co-Op Dairies, Inc. 314 Main St. Dial 3533 Grade rr A" Pasteurized Dairy Products 'Better Milk for Better Health" LAGRANGE, GEORGIA IT'S A PLEASURE!
