Besides manufacturing high class textiles, The Dunson Mills is interested 
in the welfare and happiness of its employes. 

Among other things done for the children, a grammar school of six grades, 
housed in a commodious two-story brick building, and a domestic science de- 
partment housed in a separate building, especially built and equipped, are 
maintained under the supervision of the most competent teachers. For those 
under school age, there is a beautiful little kindergarten, with two teachers, 
at which there is a daily attendance of from forty to fifty small tots. To 
enliven the interest of parents in the children's work, monthly mothers' meet- 
ings are held at the grammar school. 

Modern churches are provided, and there is also a lodge room for use of 
secret orders. 

For recreation of the grown-ups, a brass band, with paid instructor, is 
maintained; a baseball team is fostered and encouraged, and a splendid ball 
park, with a grandstand seating one thousand, is provided. 

A graduate nurse is regularly employed and on duty in the village homes 
each day, looking after the health of the employes and the families, and a 
$500 life insurance policy is carried free of charge on the life of each employe.
