He recalls his stint as the president of the Georgia Conservancy and as a volunteer for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Sibley conveys his memories of his fathers’ involvement in the Sibley Commission, describing his father as a natural leader within the family and community. Sibley ends the interview recalling how people were always drawn to his father for advice and guidance, and discussing his perspective on how to address the issues of race relations that still exists in Atlanta.John Sibley was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated from Yale Law School. He practiced law for approximately eleven years. However, he has been involved in some sort of public policy for most of his professional career.
