Davis. Designed in the Jacobean Revival style by architect William A. Edwards, the six-story tower opened in 1912 and the accompanying annex opened in 1914. The building, located in the once thriving African American commercial district known as Sweet Auburn, contained African American owned businesses and an auditorium that hosted many of black Atlanta's dances and social functions in the 1920s and 1930s. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.</dc:description><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>VIS 170.057.001</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>ahc170057001.jpg</dc:identifier><dc:publisher>Atlanta, Ga. : Kenan Research Center</dc:publisher><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Atlanta History Photograph Collection</dc:source><dc:subject>Historic buildings--Georgia--Atlanta</dc:subject><dc:subject>Facades--Georgia--Atlanta</dc:subject><dc:subject>Architectural elements--Georgia--Atlanta</dc:subject><dc:subject>Fire escapes--Georgia--Atlanta</dc:subject><dc:subject>Electric lines</dc:subject><dc:subject>Utility poles</dc:subject><dc:subject>Trucks--1970-1980</dc:subject><dc:subject>Automobiles--1970-1980</dc:subject><dc:subject>Odd Fellows Building (Atlanta, Ga.)</dc:subject><dc:title>Odd Fellows Building</dc:title><dc:type>StillImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
