Smith was a yeoman farmer who owned 11 slaves and approximately 800 acres of land. A typical plantation plain type house, it was surrounded by metropolitan Atlanta's highways and suburban office parks by the 1960s. Heirs of the Smith family decided to donate the house to the Atlanta Historical Society and the house was moved to the institution's Buckhead campus in 1969. The house was subsequently restored and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.</dc:description><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>VIS 170.828.001</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>ahc170828001.jpg</dc:identifier><dc:publisher>Atlanta, Ga. : Kenan Research Center</dc:publisher><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Atlanta History Photograph Collection</dc:source><dc:subject>Women--1960-1970</dc:subject><dc:subject>Clothing & dress--1960-1970</dc:subject><dc:subject>Older people--Georgia--DeKalb County</dc:subject><dc:subject>Mailboxes--Georgia--DeKalb County</dc:subject><dc:title>Tullie Smith</dc:title><dc:type>StillImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
