Bently (right), standing on front of a streetcar in Atlanta, Georgia.</dc:description><dc:description>The Atlanta Consolidated Street Railway was incorporated in May 1891 when Joel Hurt began negotiations to consolidate the competing street railway companies. Atlanta Street Railway, Gate City Street Railroad, Fulton County Street Railroad, West End and Atlanta Street Railroad, and Atlanta and Edgewood Street Railroad were consolidated in 1891. Work began in 1892 to convert all the tracks to electric power.
