He graduated from Boys High School in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1875. He became a painter and illustrator, opening a studio in Atlanta and later New York City, where he served as Art Editor for Harper’s Weekly. He married Frances Sage in 1885. Bradley also was the chief of the Fine Arts Department at the Cotton States and International Exposition of 1895.
