Henry and Augustine Smythe, written in 1910. Henry writes to Smythe enclosing the 1836 letter from Thomas Woodrow to his father-in-law, Robert Williamson, reporting on the death of his wife. He writes that 'apart from the element of personal interest in the letter, it gives a vivid idea of the extraordinary change that has taken place in Atlantic navigation in 70 years.' Henry discusses his recent travels, asks Smythe if he is attending the World Missionary Conference in Edinburgh in June, 1910. This letter is itself sent as an enclosure from Smythe to James Woodrow's wife, Felie. His letter is typewritten and explains meeting R.W. Henry during their travels together to Scotland.</dc:description><dc:format>application/pdf</dc:format><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:publisher>Columbia Theological Seminary Collection</dc:publisher><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:subject>Woodrow family</dc:subject><dc:subject>New York (N.Y.)--Emigration and immigration</dc:subject><dc:subject>England--Emigration and immigration--History--19th century</dc:subject><dc:subject>New York (N.Y.)-- History--19th century</dc:subject><dc:subject>Transatlantic voyages</dc:subject><dc:subject>Missions--Congresses</dc:subject><dc:subject>World Missionary Conference</dc:subject><dc:title>Letters: to Mrs. James Woodrow and Augustine Smythe, 1910</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
