Newton relates a scene from the Bible where an apostle exhorts Christian Hebrews to perservere through past sins and persecutions and continue the race. Newton comments that the race alluded to is a life in obedience to God's law through mortification of sin and a strengthening of graces. Newton then describes the three main hinderances: the world, the flesh, and the devil. Finally, he pleas with those who are not interested in Christ to join the race.</dc:description><dc:description>From notes: Preached at New Hope; Danielsville; New Lebanon December 26, 1846; Hebron March 7, 1847</dc:description><dc:format>image/jp2</dc:format><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:subject>Bible.
