All my grief and pain is over and my restless tossing has passed. I am now at peace forever, safely home in heaven at last. I am in heaven, now. Oh, so happy and so bright. Theres a great relief in knowing, Jesus is now my everlasting light. On Tuesday, July 3, 2018, God in His infinite wisdom, Lowered Down His Chariot and escorted His dear child, Doris Bacon Boggs, to her new residence; a place full of joy, peace, and comfort. Doris entered this world on July 2, 1945, the first born to the late Clarence and Willie Bell Bacon. She was nurtured and taught strong family values and Godly principles of life. Her childhood days were filled with many happy experiences and adventures. Doris was the notable babysitter to many of her cousins. At an early age, Doris accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She worked faithfully in the youth ministry and sung in the youth choir. As the years passed, she joined the Ushers Ministry and served diligently until she became church clerk in 1975. She served as church clerk for 43 years. Doris served in the Womens Mission Ministry and was President of the Deaconess Ministry. Her ultimate passion was serving as the Womens Sunday School Class Teacher. On December 31, 1966, Doris was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Bobby Boggs. They were blessed with two beautiful children, Chris, who preceded her in death, and Wanda. Over their 51 years together, they reared their children, grand/great grands, sisters, and other family members according to their inherited principles and values.
