His Hard said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few
things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
(Alatthew 25:23 KJWj
Leroy Nesby was born into this world on July 1941 to the late Horace Nesby
and Alary Lou Byrd. He peacefully transitioned to his eternal rest on Sunday July 9*,
2017 at his residence. Leroy was 75 years young.

A Claxton native, Leroy relocated to Newark, NJ in 1963 where he met and married
Annie J. Fedd. Leroy was a veteran of the United States Army where he served his
country honorably during the Vietnam War. VCTiile in New Jersey, Leroy was an
employee of Twin County Grocers for more than 20 years. He made a nice life for
himself and his family and he also had a wealth of friends and family. Leroy stayed in
New Jersey until 2008 where he returned to Claxton, GA to be closer to his mother.
Leroy loved the Lord. Upon his remrn to Claxton, he became a faithful and devoted
member of Green Cypress Baptist Church where he served on the usher board. In
his spare time, Leroy enjoyed working out at the gym. Friends, family, and neighbors
will remember Leroy as a good spirited and happy individual who was always willing
to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Leroy was a loving person and his devotion to his family and his firm belief in God
was known to many. You could always count on him to offer a smile even while
going through trials and tribulations. He was one to not complain. Although he loved
to help others, Leroy was very independent and never wanted to burden others with
his problems. He loved his family immensely and would often talk about how much
he loved his children and grandchildren and how proud he was of them. Leroy
enjoyed watching the news, posting on Facebook, and playing the lottery. He would
always tell his family, 1 am trying to hit the big one so I can take care of my familty.
Leroy leaves to cherish his memory the mother of his children, Annie Nesby; lovely
daughters Gloria VTieeler, Alississippi; Angenella Channel, New Jersey; Sharonda
Hurt, Virginia; Alonique Harris, New Jersey; son-in-lav^s. Jay D. Hurt, Ahrginia;

grandchildren Jay Darnell Leroy Hurt (26), Dannielle A. Hurt (22), Austin L.

Always There
Tmma Mane Efwell
When you remember me,
Please do not weep.
My body may not be there
It has chosen to sleep.
Vm not that far away.
My soul lives on,
looking down, watching over
You and everyone.
And when you feel sad
And life seems blue.
Just remember
That my spirit has its arms around you.
And on those special days.
Times that you wish I could see.
That cool bree:(e flowing past you...
Well, that will be me.
So, don't be sad.
Have no fear.
God has taken me under his iving.
But I ll alwcys be near.
I still watch you
Evety minute, every day.
My love and soul are with you
And that's where they will stcy.
